Getting around
Brisbane is well-connected with many public transport options. The train, bus, citycat and ferry connections make getting around and commuting to classes effortless. Brisbane students receive a 50 per cent discount on local public transport and 25 per cent discount on bike hire with City Cycle. There’s even a free ferry to jump between the city, South Bank and Kangaroo Point.

Brisbane residents and visitors alike are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding things to do. The city heart features a number of parks, including Brisbane’s Botanical Gardens, and Kangaroo Point with its Riverlife activities is just a ferry ride across the river.
There’s the popular South Bank – a recreational, cultural and dining precinct with Australia’s only man-made inner-city beach. Here you will find free exercise classes, as well as walking and bike tracks.
Brisbane is also home to some of Australia’s best museums and galleries, including Australia’s largest Gallery of Modern Art and host of the Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival and Asia Pacific Screen Awards, the Queensland Museum and Queensland Art Gallery. There are plentiful smaller galleries too.
This global city hosts a huge number of multicultural events each year, including the popular Regional Flavours food festival, Paniyiri Greek Festival, Oktoberfest, BrisAsia festival and the Night Noodle markets.
