The English For Business Purposes and Professionals Course has been developed in response to meeting the growing global demand for general, professional and vocational language skills. This means that students have the opportunity to study for interest or as a preliminary to further English language studies, vocational courses, entry into Australian or other English-speaking workplaces and new careers. NCVE provides quality and affordable education services in a friendly, professional and caring environment.

This course can also be chosen as part of the NCVE pathway program where students
commence their studies in the Intensive General English Course and progress through the respective Levels 1-6 (Starter to Advanced). The English For Business Purposes and Professionals Course can be used as a bridging and pathway course for entry into the NCVE vocational certificate and diploma courses.

Student VISA holders, tourists, English as a Second Language (ESL) individuals with residency.

Beginner to Advanced levels available (6 levels). Each student is tested to ensure they start on the best level for them.

NCVE understands the importance of flexible approaches to training and uses purpose-designed materials that focus on the learner’s needs. Learners who have established industry experience and knowledge and are motivated and outcome-focused can accelerate their learning with us. All courses can be personalised and self-paced, tailored to a learner that is driven to achieve more, sooner.

All General English courses are 20 hours per week.
Morning, afternoon and evening courses are on offer (subject to availability).*
Classes start every Monday.

Our teachers are experienced and qualified. We have a good mix of students from different nationalities. Our classrooms are modern and equipped with high-quality TVs and equipment.

20 hours per week face to face teaching and 5 hours of additional optional study, where students can choose to follow:

  • A ‘PPS’ – Personal Study Plan. Devised by the class teacher/resource teacher, from a diagnostic perspective, according to the student’s specific short-term and long-term needs.
  • A ‘Guided Study’. In negotiation with and guidance from the class teacher/resource teacher according to the student’s perceived needs.
  • Self-Study/Self-Access. Where the student chooses to devise their own line of study according to their requirements at a specific point in time or over a period of time.

On day one, an orientation program will include:

  • Placement Test and placement into a class appropriate to the student’s English level.
  • Introduction to the college and student handbook.
  • Overview of the English For Business Purposes and Professionals course including assessments, attendance procedures, academic and welfare counselling.
  • Personal interview with the Academic Manager.
  • Tour of the local area.

NCVE offers a student counselling service which includes:

  • Ongoing student welfare counselling on a personal needs basis.
  • Individual student academic counselling feedback and guidance in weeks 3, 6, 9 & 12 (if and when a student is deemed ‘at risk’ of unsatisfactory academic progress and/or attendance).

Students are provided with the following course materials:

  • Course book.
  • Workbook.
  • Supplementary grammar and vocabulary materials.
  • Additional print based, multi-media and online materials.
